iOS 13.3.1 Update is Here – What’s New?
If you’re an iPhone user or have an iPad, here’s the latest iOS 13.3.1 Update along with Patch Notes exclusively for you. I woke up this morning and my battery ran low. I casually checked if there is any update for my iPhone and found out about this. If you set your iPhone or iPad to automatically update its software, then your update should automatically be processed at the time set by you or default settings. If, however, you have set to update manually, then you will have to check it from your settings >> General. Check out the image below. (Ok I am using a VPN Service)
Install The Latest iOS Updates
Once you find out that there are updates available, you can tap to download and install the latest iOS Update (13.3.1 in this case, at the time of writing this post) with ease. Remember that your battery needs to be at above 60% or you need to plug the charger in. If the update size is big, you will need to download and install it over WiFi. The latest iOS 13.3.1 Update is not so big in size. It is about 275MB only. Here’s me downloading my iOS 13.3.1 Update on my iPhone 11.
Normally, I don’t check in detail the patch notes. But this time, I did. You can see the patch notes and other features which are new by just clicking on the “Lean More” button available on your screen even while the update is being downloaded.
Patch Notes and New Features of iOS 13.3.1
So, although I’ve decided to download the latest iOS 13.3.1 Update before even checking the release notes, I believe that there will be improvements and bug fixes, well, considering the minimal download size. But I must advice that it’s a good practice to check them out and know what you are updating to. Now let’s take a look at the release notes of iOS 13.3.1 below.
The patch notes include the following improvements and fixes:
- Security fix for the ability to add contact without passing through the Screen Password
- Manual setting to control location usage by U1 Ultra Wideband Chip
- Deep Fusion Photos editing will no longer experience delays on iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro
- Remote images loading issue has been fixed on the Mail app
- Multiple undo dialogues in Mail fixed
- Some failed push notifications over WiFi fixed. (I did not get my WhatsApp messages sometimes)
- Car Play sound issues cleared in the update
- Indian English support for Siri (Woah, this one is amusing)
Installing and Running the iOS 13.3.1 Update
Once you’ve downloaded the update, you can install it. Your iPhone or iPad will restart about 2 times and tada! You’re running the latest iOS software. Here’s me after downloading and installing the latest iOS 13.3.1 Update.
Apple has taken care that issues are fixed on their Softwares and New features introduced in a timely manner. This is perhaps one of the biggest advantages and reliability of using an iOS device.
